Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the operating hours for City Kitty Pet-Sitting Service?
City Kitty Pet-Sitting Service operates between 7 AM and 8 PM daily.
Special pet-sitting service visits can be arranged however.

What is City Kitty Pet-Sitting Services’ service area?
City Kitty provides pet-sitting service within a defined service area based
upon City Kitty staffing patterns.  We can accommodate most clients now
since City Kitty's staff expansion.  It is important to contact City Kitty as
far in advance as possible regarding your pet-sitting needs.

Where is City Kitty located?
City Kitty operates out of my home office.  Running a home
business allows me to multi-task and provide excellent customer
service while entertaining my cats.

What all is included in the City Kitty Array of Services?
Please review the list of services provided by City Kitty Pet-Sitting
in the
City Kitty Array of Services.

Does City Kitty adhere to the PSI Quality Standards for
Professional Pet-Sitters?
Yes.  City Kitty adheres to all but one of the PSI Quality Standards.
Please review the
City Kitty - PSI Quality Standards Matrix.

Does City Kitty administer medications?
City Kitty may administer oral medications to a pet on a case by case
basis and with the concurrence of the pet owner’s veterinarian.  I do
recommend the use of Pill Pockets for cats and dogs.  I have given my
own cat sub-q fluids as well as insulin shots.

Does City Kitty provide boarding services?
No.  City Kitty is not licensed for boarding services.  The service is in-
home pet care.

What if I need services not listed on City Kitty's menu of services?
Please feel free to ask me about fulfilling your other pet-related needs.  I
am always open to queries but I reserve the right to say no.

My pets have not seen a vet recently.  Will City Kitty still care for
them?
City Kitty requires all client pets to be current on required and
recommended vaccinations and clear of infectious conditions. If you do
not have a current vet, City Kitty can talk to you about local veterinary
providers.  The City of Columbia requires all pets, indoor or outdoor, to
have a current city pet license.  City Kitty may decline to care for your
pets if your pets are not current on vaccinations or do not have the
required city pet license.

Are there any pets City Kitty will not care for?
City Kitty does not care for dogs, reptiles, most amphibians, spiders, or
prohibited animals under City of Columbia regulations.

How many visits should my pet receive while I am gone?
Cats require one visit per day and may require more visits depending on
the cat’s health status.

What happens if my travel plans change?
City Kitty may require the pet owner to pay a cancellation fee if notice is
received less than 3 days before the engagement.

Does City Kitty maintain a current listing of local veterinarians?
Yes.  Please review the 2005 City of Columbia Vet Listing.  City Kitty
does ask pet owners to verify whether their vet provides after hours
services.

Some veterinarians maintain a website too!  Here are the ones I have
located so far:

  • Columbia Pet Hospital (formerly Columbia Veterinary Hospital)
  • Pet Center
  • Rolling Hills Animal Hospital
  • UMC College of Veterinary Medicine
